Had an Irish Setter once that I called Huckleberry, "HUCK" for short. One day I was out in the front yard calling him. Seems like Setters like to roam. After a few calls of HUCK, I noticed a neighbor looking at me disgustingly. Didn't think much of it until a squad car pulled up in front later, asked me some pretty embarassing questions. Next Irish I owned I named WOODY. (Sitcom "Cheers"). No problems with that.

a car incident can stick with dogs - when the boys were young, we went to get a boxer puppy and on the way home i remember she wanted to crawl under the car seat and had way too much skin. so i'd keep reaching down and naping her back up like a wet sock - it looked funny and my son was afraid i'd hurt her so he kept saying "don't squish her". so she became, you guessed it, "squisher" :)

You mean you didn't have a dog named , Cold Water,
Then you could have told your dinner guests that the dishes are as clean as cold water can get them .

rhouston    Posted 01-19-2004 at 11:43:11       [Reply]  [No Email]
I will remember that one.
