I know I do not get into politics very much but I just had to laugh last night. The loser was acting like he won. 2nd place winner saying there will be no more poor people if he wins? I wonder whos check they are going to give to the guys not working so we are all on a even keel and making the same money. Maybe it would be easier to vote for him quit my job and wait for my check in the mail? The winner well he is going to save america and won't quit till he wins! Some are saying don't belive the poles unless they say I am winning. Now are we supposed to belive all this cr*p they are saying? I guess they will have another person who has the winning percentage to rag on now and say how bad he is and say vote for ME I'm the one who is better for the job!! Why don't they go back to the old saying if I win I will make sure there is a Chicken in every Pot? This is scary seeing this and they want to run the country? To bad this is not just a joke and this is the best they can drag up to run for President. I am confused who picked these guys anyway? They must be thinking the public is pretty dumb or maybe it is I am not sure. They need some new speech writers who know how to lie better. Mark H.

Mark, all politicians live in a bubble. They are surrounded by staff and friends that always emphasize the positive, especially when running for office. Take Saddam H., All his scientists and Generals told him he had WMD and a 1st class army. If they had not, they would have been out of the bubble and that really ego devestating. Course in Saddam's case he would have been informing their next of kin.

I used to have a bumper sticker on my other truck that said "Vote Democratic. It's easier than getting a job."

I had one that said:

The ratrace is over and the rats won.

But then, the rat was Carter.

Now that he has come & gone, I don't know. Good man, wrong time.

Be happy you have a job my friend. A bunch of my kin got laid off since Bush was selected and they don't have anything yet. I guess they're lazy and need to move to China to find work.

Willy-N    Posted 01-20-2004 at 14:25:11       [Reply]  [No Email]
I am living in a area with the highest un/employment in most of the USA finding a job is hard. But I never give up and allways find something to make a living at. I have collected 2 weeks of un/employment insurance in my life and that was back in 1973 they said it would be 6 weeks befor I would get a check so I had to find a job. Now I make my own work for most of my income. I will do anything nessasary to feed my family that is legal to do. PS I only have a GED also so I never realy got the big money so I am not to picky. Mark H.

just listen to Bush tonight, he will tell you how to get employed. Gonna train you for something. Course, don't know if you will qualify, but he is going to take care of all of the unemployed. Darn, where has he been the lst 3 years?

You done good Mark. Many of us enjoy seeing and reading of your success's. Don't fall prey to the hype. This country is resting on the shoulders of folks like you and others that hang around places like this.

"Proof is in the pudding." My G'ma said.

Was it Bush's fault or that the 90s put too much faith in hi tec companies? The fall of the economy started in 1999. Remember it took a little while for Kennedy and Reagon's tax cuts to take hold. Contrary to what many say, the president, Clinton nor Bush, can do much for the economy except by means of pushing for tax raises or cuts. The government created jobs don't work anymore then a prepetro motion machine.

Is this the best they can do? It all seems like such a big joke. Kerry is skinny so he is wearing a puffy jacket to make himself look bigger. This is all to funny but I guess his followers will fall for it. Maybe they should all be naked on stage so we can get to the truth! Mark H.

cletus    Posted 01-20-2004 at 13:03:22       [Reply]  [No Email]
I hear ya'. That puffy jacket looks about as funny on that war hero as that flight suit did on our deserter in chief.

Willy-N    Posted 01-20-2004 at 14:16:59       [Reply]  [No Email]
I belive he needed that suit for fire reasons bring in the Jet. All people who get to fly in a military Jet have to put on Nomex Cloths for added protection. If he wore a Carhart in Iowa will he wear Bermuda shorts in Florida? Kind of looked like he was playing on the Farmers to me, not sure. Mark H.

this just reinforces what we all know. Tall men as a rule are perceived to be more successful and intelligent. Also a good looking person has an edge, we all know that. In the breakdown of the candidates last night on one of the networks they compared how women ranked them and how men ranked them. Women overwhelmingly liked Edwards, while dean fell short.Men likd the hero status of Kerry. Also, it this age of tv, where every move is on someones camera, You got to look reserved and capable.Look back through the years and there would have been quite a few men that in this age would never had to make it. Then, you had to have a trustworthy voice.
Too bad it is this way

would/could FDR be elected in this day and age????

Mark in MO    Posted 01-20-2004 at 11:54:48       [Reply]  [Send Email]
At the time FDR was criticized for being too much of a Socialist by members of his own party. As we look back now, he was probably one of our best Presidents during one of the worst times in US history. He did much more for this country than Harry Truman, I hate to say that since I'm also from Missouri.

Willy-N    Posted 01-20-2004 at 09:30:52       [Reply]  [No Email]
This is all so sad I wonder if they have lifts in there shoes? Should we measure them to see if they are realy that tall? Being 5' 5" I guess I better not run I would never get a vote. Mark H.

Willy, ya drug me off the porch with ya! I need some help finding some links.
Can anyone help me find a link to the time John Kerry marched with the little red haired girl, (I think it was Gena Davis??) but not sure. During their press briefing with Tom Brokaw, she admited to being a self proclaimed communist. And Kerry denounced every vietnam vet as a "WAR CRIMINAL!"
What does that make him? A decorated war hero, or a war criminal? Or a decorated war criminal?
I watched this in amazement on tv, and now I can't find any reference to it.
I'd also love to get some video of Howard Dean sobbing on camera! Wouldn't that instill a vote of confidence should 9-11 ever happen again!
Thanx in advance for any help I can get.
Ron

Willy-N Thanks!    Posted 01-20-2004 at 09:58:11       [Reply]  [No Email]
Hearing that I did some checking and found this.
Seeking election to the U.S. House in 1972, Kerry found it necessary to suppress reproduction of the cover picture appearing on his own book, The New Soldier. His political opponent pointed out that it depicted several unkempt youths crudely handling an American flag to mock the famous photo of the U.S. Marines at Iwo Jima. Suddenly, copies of the book became unavailable and even disappeared from libraries. But the Lowell (Mass.) Sun said of the type of person shown on its cover: "These people spit on the flag, they burn the flag, they carry the flag upside down, [and] they all but wipe their noses with it in their efforts to show their contempt for everything it still stands for."

During the 1972 "Kerry for Congress" campaign, flyers invited voters to "hear Ramsey Clark, former Attorney General, who has just recently returned from a visit in North Vietnam." While in Hanoi, Clark had distinguished himself by roundly condemning the United States, heaping praise on his Communist hosts, and lecturing American prisoners of war.

In May 1972, the Boston Phoenix reported that Kerry had defiantly given his medals back to the U.S. government during one of his many protests. New York Times columnist Bill Keller wrote in September 2002 that the senator invited him to view 40 minutes of films Kerry made depicting his war exploits. Keller wrote that anti-war doves would still support the man they remembered for "throwing his war ribbons onto the steps of the Capitol." When pressed about what happened to his medals, Kerry now says the medals he threw away were not his and that his are displayed in his Senate office. Retired General George S. Patton III would later angrily charge that Kerry’s actions had "given aid and comfort to the enemy."

You know I still could run for the office. I was thinking back and I must be a War Hero I save two people in Vietnam from dieing. I risked my life by grabbing a live electrical line and pulled them off. They were stuck to it and allmost dead till I hooked my arms around the cable being shocked while doing it and jerking them free. My problem is I never got a Medal for it to prove this. The two guys were burned pretty good too. Could it be that I was only a Privet at the time and this did not count? Boy if I ever run for President I will be sure to dig into the military files and find it. Then I can be a Hero too! Mark H.

You forgot the quote of the day from our man in Ohio, Kucinich who said. Nobody expected us to do better than 5th so we met expectations. A victory in finishing last I guess? LOL. The big question is whether he will be a Republican or Democrat next time? Guess it depneds on which party needs candidates.

Just saw Kerry with a Carhart work Coat on? Dean with his sleeves rolled up. I feel better seeing Edward in a suit. Now lets see Kerry must be for the working man by his jacket, Dean he must be a hard worker because his sleeves are rolled up. Edward is wearing a suit so that must mean he is ready to go to work? It is so hard to figure this out!! Maybe it will be harder next week after I see what they are wearing then. I want to make sure they are wearing the best cloths for there job. Boy Kerry sure looks like the working mans guy so he may get my vote! Mark H.

will-n... what you been smoking or drinking ? maybe cabin fever ? first time i have seen you wound up over polititians .yes they are skilled professional liars and quite adept at pulling the wool over the publics eyes . yes the voters are dumb and stupid some like foxes ( think welfare and all the trimings for the able bodied that dont want to work and lay home making more welfare babies ) or we wouldn't have the kind of people for president and in congress that we do .i am neither democrat or republican but would be for whom ever would do what is in the best intrest of the country but we can never have that as the majority of the voters are voting in their own self intrest or can't see through the crooked polititians . then there are many that are party loyal regardless of the 2 choices we are given .i have posted some of my views over on the tales board and have been cut down at the knees because i believe we went to war with iraq to get bush reelected and control of oil .

Not smoken or drinking yet but this is the first time I sorta followed the picking of the Democrat Party. I thought it was going to be better than this?? I guess last night was the end of most of it and they were making such a big deal out of this on the news?? Seems like a big waste of donated money to there party of choise! They did not even get anything for the buck they spent. I want to see some real news now! Mark H.
