[Return to Topics]

I am looking for the old hand crank corn shellers. The type that has the hand crank on the back and a big flywheel on the front. You feed corn in the top, kerrnals fall out the bottom and cob falls out front. Any brand, Must be complete. Would prefer in Ky. Area. Price depends on brand and condition. Thank you.

I think I have a corn sheller like you are discribing. The hand crank is on one side and a fly wheel about twice the size of the hand crank is on the other side. Corn is fed through the top and the kernels fall out of the bottom.

The sheller I have has writing on it(unsure of what it says). I think it was produced in Ill. or Indiana.

If you are interested, let me know I would be happy to send pictures.

I have a FILLMORE, CASSELL AND CO.
EAGLE CORN SHELLER
MADE IN ZANESVILLE,OHIO

IT IS VERY GOOD CONDITION. THE PAINT AND LETTERING IS SOMEWHAT FADED BUT STILL READABLE.
THE MECHANICAL PARTS SEEM TO STILL WORK, ALL THOUGH I HAVEN'T TRIED AN EAR OF CORN. IT BELONGED TO MY GRANDFATHER AND GREAT GRANDFATHER.
IT HAS A WHEEL ON ONE SIDE AND A CRANK ON THE OTHER. THIS IS NOT A HAND HELD SHELLER. I THINK MY GRANDFATHER MIGHT HAVE LAST USED IT TO SHELL WALNUTS! IF YOU ARE INTERESTED I CAN SUPPLY PICTURES. I LIVE IN WHEELING, WV.

Have you looked on ebay? A couple of months ago, someone wanted to know what a corn sheller looked like. I searched on ebay and found several with pictures. If there's none on there now, I'll bet one will come up soon if you keep watching.

I look at Ebay daily. They have shellers like the ones I am looking for from time to time. The worst part about the ones on ebay is the shipping costs. These shellers are so heavy it cost what the sheller is worth to ship it. That is why I am looking for them locally in Ky. Where I can drive and pick them up.
Thanks,
