Any Old Geesers here

"Geezers" (slang for an old man) are easy to spot:

At sporting events, during the playing of
the National Anthem, Old Geezers hold
their caps over their hearts and sing without
embarrassment. They know the words and
believe in them. Old Geezers remember
World War I, the Depression, World
War II, Pearl Harbor,Guadalcanal, Normandy
and Hitler. They remember the Atomic Age,
the Korean War, The Cold War, the Jet Age
and the Moon Landing, not to mention Vietnam.

If you bump into an Old Geezer on the sidewalk,
he will apologize. If you pass an Old Geezer
on the street, he will nod or tip his cap to a
lady. Old Geezers trust strangers and are
courtly to women. Old Geezers hold the door
for the next person and always, when walking,
make certain the lady is on the inside for protection.

Old Geezers get embarrassed if someone curses
in front of women and children and they don't like
any filth on TV or in movies. Old Geezers have
moral courage. They seldom brag unless it's
about their grandchildren.

It's the Old Geezers who know our great country
is protected, not by politicians or police, but by
the young men and women in the military serving their
country.

This country needs Old Geezers with their decent
values. We need them now more than ever.
Thank God for Old Geezers!

Well-ll, Guess I'm not old enough to be an "Old Geezer", but I'm well on the way.
Hmmmm.........At 63 yrs.,
I remember WWII, I remember VE Day & VJ Day. And thence, on down.
Got a big, grey beard. Guess you could say I'm long-in-the-tooth.
I am still young enough to stand-up & take a Stand, when it's called for.
I'm still young enough to have a twinkle in my eye. Most of the rest of your post is true.

I'm Lucky to have earned the respect of Friends, by paying my dues.
Although some of 'em call us old Greybeards
"Old Curmudgeons", That's okay.
Maybe, Onea these days I'll enter the ranks of the "Old Geezers"............
'Til Later..........
Old John

great creed!-Too many people out there now trying to make the next dollar to buy items that will only make them want more. In proverbs it says"A person who wants silver will never have enough silver". Just look at the faces and actions of people when you are out in public, of course I would look that way too if I was awash in debt and spending all my time to make money to turn over to corporate america. Thats the name of the game in a growth based consumtion oriented society. The outcome is greed aplenty

I think it's called wisdom and it isn't achieved by all. I don't know that I would qualify as one yet at 44, but if they have an apprenticeship, would ya be willing to sign me up? I'm a farely quick study and will try real hard.Lol

I'm thinking that since I can't recall either WW, I'm just a Geezer not an old one. Now my dad, he's an old Geezer. Don't tell him I said that he'll kick my butt.

I asked the barber if he had anything for gray hair and he replied by saying, "A lot of respect".
I don't know if I'm a Geezer or not. But, I think I pretty well fill the requirements as stated above. I do have a problem tho. My body feels the effects of 66 active years, but I hope my mind stays young at heart.
