Hi All,

Winter has finally come to Indiana. We had 5 in.
of Snow & ice Sunday. And, We got another 4 & 1/2
on top of that yesterday. I LOVE it.

But, Hey, I'm retired & get to sit Home, look out at the Beautiful Snow-covered Indiana Hills.
The Temp w's down to 5 this morning & the windchill -15.
Bu-u-u-ut...........*It ain't Montana!*

We'd thought to Retire out there, up around Missoula, Thompson Falls or somewhere, in that big river complex on the Western Slope of the Rockies.
We spent a couplea weeks up there, the last 2 summers, driving around lookin' at property.
We really developed a LOVE for Montana.
It's a Beautiful, Beautiful Place. We saw Elk & Eagles, Trout, Buffalo & Bear.

It was not to be. My 5 kids & 15 Grandkids raised such a fuss. Besides the Expense & Logistics, of such a move, that far away woulda been really BAD!
Too many "things, accumulated over the years, to part with, or move.

So we looked around Southern Indiana. Got a nice little house, sorta 2 story. A walk-out basement
with a deck all around.12 acres of hillsides & a 1 acre pond, up against a State-forest.We see whitetails & wild turkeys, frequently.
I LOVE the Beautiful Snow-covered Indiana Hills!
We've Earned what we have.
But it Ain't MONTANA.............
'Til later.........Old John

i tend to start feeling stupid up here packing firewood this time of year. then a single sobering thought makes it all seem better, "some people live in alaska" :)
