Sugar substitue

evere since i was diag. with the big "D" (diabetes) i have been on a quest for a good tasting suger sub. i think i have finally found it, SPLENDA. tastes like sugar. (pretty close anyway)

I have been a diabetic for 27 years and my wife sweetens everything with equal.Tast natral to me. I.m worce than a kid about sweets. James(Ga)

Been using Splenda since it came out over a year ago. One advantage of Splenda over other substitutes is you can bake with it. The others loose their sweetness and some go sour when heated. The sad thing about cutting back on sugar is I don't get to use the home made maple syrup as much.

Yup been trying to cut back on the suger myself been using it for a couple weeks now tast the same even seems sweeter than regular suger

Going through the same thing myself.....been using "Sugar Twin", tastes realy good on fruit, acceptable on cereal, not great in coffee.... will see if I can find "Splenda" at the grocers.. thanks for the info....have a gooder, R.E.L.

try honey - sure it's messy but it's 10 times sweeter than sugar and better for ya :)

actually if you are diabetic or just watching the carbs. honey is not good for ya! its very high in carbs as are most natural or refined sugars. a very common misconception regarding sugars is that natural sugars are good for you, not necessarily so, sugars are sugars. splenda; no fat and almost no carbs.

yep you're probably right - thought about diabetics after i posted it - oops :)
what are we watching anyway? used to be calories but they're good for you. even though everybody's jumping on the carb bandwagon, so are they normally. is there an identified enemy besides silverware & melmac? jeez :)


i'm gonna count my gnoids from now on. no matter who's looking. i'll start with the talk show hosts and ultimately ask the shelf-stockers if they have any of this in low-gnoid etc. hey i could sell gnoid-o-matic exercise machies. then watch janice flash a gnoid and somebody will outlaw that too. i mean don't nice goinds count? :)
