did it again.
there we all were sittin around the table having good conversation and one of the 20 somethings gets up and turns on the TV to watch the Daytona time trials! ok i understand why people watch a race but time trials? one car going round and round and round and round and round....
btw. the fam. room is off the kitchen with no dividing wall. it could not be ignored.

At my house than would be considered a well rounded person with good taste, a touch of class and in tune with modern technology. You got your cap I got mine = a well rounded population. BTY: how much does your local government fork out to keep a minor league team in town or your state government hand out to keep a Major/pro team in the state?

In my home, that would be considered an ill mannered person, poor taste, low class, and sorely in need of having a modern technological device planted squarely in his butt.
If we're have a meal, or a family gathering at the kitchen table, we'll do it without the aid of a television. I don't care if it's a race, the superbowl or the pope.
Sorry I just can't quite follow the rest of the post RE: government supported sports teams.

Can't find one little bit of fault with your view, but I will stick with mine.

Appears to me that before you start downing what some else likes that you need have a look as to why they like it. Now what state was it that spent millions up millions of taxpayer monies to build this ultramodern stadium and couldn't find a team that wanted it. Now I got to admit that each time you but a vehicle or part for that vehicle that you do contribute to those round and rounds.
