A couple of questions - How far way from your well should the septic system (tanks be) the sprinklers will be a acre away or so.

Thanks Chris

here the law says you must be a min.50ft with your well from your septic tank and 100ft with well to septic field, when your planning everything out if you can go farther away the better, and if you can figure out the way everything drains in your area put the septic down stream from your well,it,s your only source of water try and do everything to protect it.

Where I live they want the well 100 ft minium from the septic system and any areas of standing livestock like a pasture around a barn, stalls, feed lot ect. Check with your Local Health Dept for there regulation to be safe. Mark H.

thats one thing i would want far apart!! Try a costern. My neighbor has a septic system that is 400-500 feet from my propety line-developed a spring through it. You can tell their is ewage in small amounts coming out on my propery. It has been said for years here that the old timers would just recirculate water from there septic to their wells

Check with your local health department or county extension office - they can give you the goods for your local conditions. It is a good thing to separate wells and septic systems by a good deal of distance. Really don't want to drink that stuff do you?

In NYS 100' is the minimum your local code and soil conditions will dictate what is right in your area.
