Hey guy, Pearl Harbor is really worth seeing, but when we went, there were us Americans on one side of the boat and the Japanese on the other side with their own tour guide. Kinda took away from the tour for me. Anyway, no one has told you to go to the Punch Bowl. As far as I am concerned, it is a must see. I have only had the same feeling once more in my life and that was at Gettysbury. Don't miss it.

Have no desire to lbe in Hawaii or California or any state further South Than Wisconsin or Minn. Spent 18 months in Panama Canal Zone and another 10 months at Fort Sam Houston, Tx. had enough of the tropics and hot weather. Just a Northern boy by heart.

Hey Jon,

I know it's easy to hate California, etc. And I don't blame you re: not wanting to visit California. There are many places I have NO interest in visiting. But just know our state just ain't all radical socialist liberals (well, just about 78% are), and we all ain't in Los Angeles (contrary to TV shows) or up in the SF Bay area.

At the same time, check out these links. My current job has taken me all over the State, and I have a renewed appreciation for what it has.

Mammoth Lakes

Northern Coast (State of Jefferson)

Mt. Shasta

Yosemite: El Capitan on the left and half dome on the right. also....

More rural pics.

and finally, close to my home is:

Dave, my not wanting to visit California is not because of the liberal bias or 9th District, but that I was born and raised in a four season state and really hate sweating. I enjoy open areas and less people. I have a place in U.P. of Michigan where If I stay for a month, I see no other human. Get allot of thinking and work done that way. Learn more about yourself and less apt to be persuaded by off beat personalities. Oh ya, then there is my TO-20 Fergie and deer plots to maintain.

I would probably spend a little time checking out the beach fashions, you know just to see what colors are popular among the women. That way I could get the wife something stylish.

never left the airport either time. Just sitting at the airport was quite a show in itself.

How about that sneaky acting Mid Eastern looking passenger sitting in the row next to you with his hand in his pocket?

There is always a snowpack on the volcanoes above 10,000 feet...

Bring your snowboard...
