me and my son went to Mom's Saturday morning for breakfast as always (my wummen works saturdays) and she seemed normal. Well me, wife and son, sister, her husband and son went Sunday nite for supper as always. Again she seemed normal. However after supper we went into the den to talk and watch TV, as usual. All of the sudden she turned on the grammy awards and started watching them. I ask her if she was alright and she said yes. I said that is the last straw we are puting you up for adoption. So if you know someone looking to adopt a 65 year old woman let me know. She is in good shape except dragging one hind leg a little, gonna have to have a knee job sometime, but well insured so this shouldn't be a big issue. Pretty good looking gal for her age. Very country, excellent cook, nice home with 15 acres. Always been a conservitave up until this episode. Never voted anything except Republican. Beautiful children, 45 & 33. Then I get to thinking about the fried chicken, biscuits and gravey, and all the other great stuff she cooks and I have second thoughts. What should I do? Could this be a chemical imbalance, early stages of alzheimers? What should i do?

Well, I think it's reasonable for you to go in and get tested for Alzheimer's, chemical imbalance, etc. But I doubt you have sound relatively normal. It could just be too much TV.

I may be interested.
Could you send a sample of fried chicken, biscuits and gravey?

You are lucky you still can enjoy having your mom around. I lost mine in 1995 to cancer at the age of 54. She never did drink nor smoke. Yet they found lung caner in Nov 1994 and Jan 1995 she was gone. You do not know what you have until she is gone.

I hope I don't sound too offensive. But, maybe your mother turned on the Grammy award to hasten your departure. I've used that technique a few times to good advantage............gfp
