A hole in our wallet

Sunday we were on our way to visit my dad, and not too far from where we live was this dog just standing in the middle of the one lane road. He wouldn't move so I went out of the car to check the dog, he was hurt, had a hole in his back right leg that went all the way through to the other side next to the testicles. A huge hole that you could see through, like a dunnut hole.
We had to make a quick decision, but we wouldn't leave him there, so we asked in the houses close by and nobody knew the dog. He is the cutest thing, and I knew that if we left him there on his own we would be back there in five minutes to get him. So we took him home and to the vet, who did a reconstruccion and told me it was a miracle that his testicles were intact, no muscle or nerve were hurt either.
So..here we are, owned by a chiwawa that costed [sp] us $300. He's about three years old and caramel in color. Gotta push down his throat some pills the vet prescribed, hope he helps me out a bit cause his teeths are sharp, and so is his mood.

aw jeez - now i'm kinda glad you live clear over there! we already have a limping deer to drag hay to, and 2 canada geese who stop by the dock and honk for corn. last fall we had a wounded goose but these both fly so well i'm not even sure this is the same couple! oh well, settle down and let me get the pail, i'll be back in a minute :)

My Dad used to say "Save an animals life, win a friend for life." there may be a special place in Heaven for people like you. seems there should be anyway.

If everybody would do that, there would be no cold and lonely strays, that only wish for a nice warm home and someone to love them. If it were a perfect world. You made a difference today, thanks for being such a caring human being. :)

Patria, you did a good humane thing. Don't worry about the cost because God Loves you and he won't forget your kindness. Just know that you will receive your reward.........gfp

that just about anybody would do the same, I'm really very far from being a madre teresa, and like other people, sometimes, whether you want it or not, have to look to the other side or you end up with a house full of strayed animals and the mailbox filled with charities collectors.

'Fonzy' has the sadest eyes you can find, and loves us like he's known us all his life. We're lucky to have him.
