...have problems?....My 2003 Ford Full size is now running in it's 3rd front drive train...36,000 mile. Good thing that it has a warranty, but what happens when it runs out?
I had a 89 chevy....223,000 mile and never touched it. Toyotas are good vehicles, but I wouldn't call them a truck.

If you are working on an S10 with the old 4 speed manual transmission.
Why not check with a junk yard for an early model 5 speed?

I changed one in an 89 S10 that I had with one out of a 94 model truck.

My gas milage went from 25 to 33 mpg.

The only problem I saw was that the truck did not have as much power when in 5th. But I found that non of the S10's with a 4 cylinder engine had much pulling power on a hill in 5th.

full size truck. eveidently this trans had problems. the shifter was redesigned and is available only from GM. now it's up to 1200.00, might as well have been a auto trans.
