Folks, I was raised in a Christian household. Baptised and confirmed as a Lutheran. Sunday School and Church EVERY Sunday, Walther League and Vacation Bible School, the whole shebang.

I won't bore you with the reasons, but it didn't take.

I don't have the 'nads to say I'm an Atheist, (could be they was right all along, ya know...) so I'm that lukewarm, neither hot nor cold kinda person called an Agnostic.

I get just a tiny bit tired of being preached at everywhere I turn, and I let my annoyance overcome my manners.

Y'all post whatever ya want, just like always, and I'll be a little more careful what threads I read.

Hey there! Im a Baptist missionary wife living in Korea - we're missionaries to the US Military. Anyway, did you ever think of trying a different denomination? Could be that that particular one wasn't the right one for you. Maybe you shouldn't have just made a decision not to believe in the God of the Bible totally based on your experience with one denomination. Just my 2 cents. :) Don't be offended - I AM a missionary.

I am not trying to preach here this is just a thought. If you feel like it's comin from everywhere it could be the hound of heaven on your trail. We don't find Him, He finds us.

I'm the same, I don't like the word Athiest. It sounds so hateful. So I am a non-believer, or an Other.
I was raised Catholic shoved down my throat. Never did feel like I believed. I say its Gods fault that I don't believe, he knows what it would take to make me a believer and he dropped the ball.
It doesn't mean I don't appriciate religion, my wife is a Sunday school teacher and we are active in her church. Religious people never bothered me. and the funny thing is, I know more about religion than most Christians. I am constantly asked all kinds of questions about all different religions. Some people need it and some don't.

I am a spiritualist. I didn't get this way through religion. My belief is in God and not in preachers.

No pardon needed here, you can't hurt my feelings over religion. The Lord gave me a sense of humor and it applies to religion too. As long as we all know we stand here it ain't an issue. I wouldn't intentionaly offend someone else. If I do by getting too preachy just tell me to stow it, I'll get the message.

Well said and I agree...

Don't seem to me that there's been a whole lot of it. Probly I skipped right over a bunch of it myself and that's why it doesn't seem like there's much. These things run in cycles.
Not only that, it depends on whether the preacher is correct or not.

I know I'm beating a dead horse here, but...

I was NOT trying to ban a certain sort of topic. I was asking (snottily, I admit) that when a topic that I happen to find annoying dies down, somebody let me know.

Now even my apology for being snotty is resulting in more of what annoyed me in the first place.

I give up.

I figure if'en I ain't doing a whole lot of asking of God's spirit; it don't hurt to pass a few thank yous that way.

what gender this god we call upon or how we tend to believe, varies with our value placed on our loss or gain as the case may be. trying to help a red angus heifer calf breathe can really make you strain.
