Have you no shame??? All this talk about STEAKS, and, barbequed on top of it!!!! I supose with sauce an' a few mushrooms, an' onions, an' baked potato/sour cream, too.... why do I rant??? you ask??? Because the doc put me on a "no red meat", no onions, no potato, no anything, [almost] diet!!!! all he left me was a bottle of water, a soother, and lick my lips for desert....next step is to borrow Toolmans mirror, so I can watch myself starve to death!!! Guess I'll just have to go back to reading the stupid posts about polyticks..... rhubarb...rhubarb....rhubarb........

I sympathize. I just had my tonsils taken out the begining of the week. So my diet consists of apple sause, jello, a little ice cream. What I wouldn't give for a steak or a hamburger for that matter. Hang in there, you'll be alright. :)

My sympathies to you, but I've found the only way to loose weight is to quit eating. So hard in the winter. Now all we need is for Patria to tell us how nice the weather is down there.

oh Ana..    Posted 02-12-2004 at 07:28:16       [Reply]  [No Email]
I stopped talking about my weather a long time ago, kinda noticed warm weather talking was as bad as talking about politics and religion.LOL!

Top of the morn to you there grove. Sorry to hear about the diet spring is comming though I hope. How is the hip? Have you been able to get it out of 2nd gear yet? I have been trying to cut back on my intake to but not to that extent yet good luck. Cul8er

Mornin, TB, things are pretty much a slow crawl, yet...hope the doc puts me on two cains tomorrow so I can get rid of these crutches....kind of a weening process.....the diet isn't that terrible bad, just that the "mad cow" meat is a mainstay at my house......but, if I can kick about seventy five pounds, I'll be real happy....have a gooder, R.E.L.

i went thru the sticks after my stroke too - first wheelchair, crutches, walker, cane. it's a pain but it's so much more fun than pushing up daisies.

got a real nice 4-wheeled walker out there yet. i'm gonna use it this spring when the road dries out, see if i can't improve my draggin leg. seems like everytime i move it's either good behavior or bad and i have to decide whetther to encourage it or not.

i'm in that slow stretch now where it seems like i still get around slow and i see very few firsts - then i'll see somebody in town and they'll say "hey - glad to see you wore out the cane". maybe we oughta keep journals to remind us progress is there and it is better than it was. remember she still loves you even thru the cussing and griping so try not to be too hard on the missus. and don't trip over the dam cat. :)

Do you need to go to get physical therapy?

Grove r, Realy Ticked!!    Posted 02-12-2004 at 07:51:13       [Reply]  [No Email]
Can't realy do too much on that end yet...have to get off these "gibble sticks" first..maybe another month or so...do small workouts but nothing too strenuous for the time being....doc wants all the muscles healed up before he'll turn me loose.....have a gooder, all, R.E.L.
