I have moved from far north Illinois to Central Arkansas to two (2) acres - This change of life is difficult for me. I'm not use to this. I use to live in town, where I could go to the store any time i wanted - more important find and job not to far from home. Here it takes about 1/2 an hour just to get to a town the will pay half descent. Could someome help me to adjust to this and give me some ideas on how to adampt. Is traveling 1/2 to 45 min. to work a normal thing here, and also the pay is quite low, should I settle for a job more then the money - Would traveling (1) hour too work - is that too far - to get half way discent money.

Please help i am running out of ideas

Welcome Barb,

First let me say that this board is a really good board with really great people. The stuff that is going on right now is not typical.

Next, we drive about 1/2 hour to town. My husband drives about 1hr to 1hr 15 min to work. It is all worth it to us. There is no comparison to living in the country. The benefits are to numerous to mention. My husband dosen't mind the long drive at all. He gives him time to wind down after a long day. When he used to work 15 minutes from here he would bring his work home with him and he was usally a bear to be around. So he likes the drive. It isn't always great when gas prices are high but we wouldn't trade it for anything.

Give it time and I think you will adjust to it. Keep in touch with the board and feel free to ask anything, there is always someone here with a good idea.
