I have a Cribben & Sexton Universal wood burning procelan blue cook stove that has been damaged on the water container end. The floor of the water well and the end panel have broken pieces. The stove also has a warming oven that sits on top. How can I get replacement parts?

I would like to know if anyone can repair a 1957 Cribbean Universal Roastmaster gas range. It is 46" wide, with 5 burners (4 work), white enamel with chrome and it has a broiler (which was probably used once or twice). The oven recently stopped running. Thanks, Ann.

We also have a Universal by Cribben and Sexton. It
came with our 1937 home and it is in pretty good
condition for having been around for such a long time.
Did you find out any info re: the company or where to
get parts? Some of the edges are starting to rust and I
would like to keep it in good shape. The stove is right
on the money re temp compared to a separate
thermometer!

Holly Wolf    Posted 08-28-2007 at 16:51:21       [Reply]  [Send Email]
I have 4 burner grates, knobs, etc... Cooktop does not work, so I believe it will have to be "parted." Let me know if you need pieces still.

Can you tell me how to prevent some minor rusting
around the edges of the drip pan? Also, what is the
mest way to wash and clean the surface without
hurting the finish? I also have some minor cracking in
the inifh on the cover as the burner was turned on while
the cover was down, Is there a way to protect it from
further damage or a way to fix it? Thanks for your
advice!

I have a Cribben-Sexton stove stamped no. 2612
and is a coal/wood and gas combo. It's vitually
like new and I bought it for a mere $150.oo
from the former Sheriff of Ripley County. It
came from Wisconsin about 10 years ago. I burn
wood in it and consider it a work of art, which
justifies keeping the non-functional but beautiful
gas features in my kitchen as a center-piece.

I also have a Universal Cribben and Sexton propane stove. Was you able to get any information as to what they are worth? I cannot find a number on it... could you tell me where to look? It does not have a temperture control on the oven and the vent comes out of the back and top of the oven.
I really want to get rid of this stove. Any ideas?
Thanks for any help.

I came across a Cribben Sexton parlor stove that has Chicago No. 7 stamped on the top and 1866 on the back... It is a round, small parlor stove..
Quite ornate and a cute little thing.. It is a wood burner.. I would like to know more about it and its value... Help...

Rayna    Posted 07-05-2009 at 19:11:06       [Reply]  [Send Email]
Can you send a picture of it? Would you be interested in selling it?

agaresche@compaq.net    Posted 03-24-2002 at 10:17:31       [Reply]  [Send Email]
Cribben & Sexton produced ovens & stoves here in Chicago well into the 70's.
The building is now a loft development and I have found no one who currently carries any spare parts. Your best bet is to find an old stove and try salvaging the parts yourself. Keep in mind that like the parts, the ovens are very rare, and finding one may be next to impossible. Good Luck

P.S. Check out www.homesteadstoves.com for refurbished vintage stoves.
