SPRING IS COMING
copyright February 16, 2004
Donna Wood

I know spring is coming... I'm just not sure when:
We all know there will be warm weather again.
But meanwhile, I dread waking up to the cold,
And cringe while the weatherman's stories unfold.

Spring always happens, and it will once more...
Perhaps even sweeter than ever before.
Seasons do change, just like turning a page,
And they return faster, the longer I age.

Spring: oh, the sound of that glorious word!
One day, we'll notice a change has occurred,
And grass will start growing, and farmers will plow.
I know spring is coming: I just want it now!

I currently have a hen sitting on 14 eggs. Maybe she knows something we don't. On a side note I must have seen 50 robins friday. Forecast here looks to be in upper 40 and lower 50 fordaytime temp with dry weather this week-breaking garden friday or sat.

Yep Donna, that's me this year. I love winter. Ours usually are tolerable and very scenic here in the hill country. We have had snow on the ground now for......a long time. It is just a hair above zero outside this morning, and I am going to have to go out and grab more firewood shortly. All of the things I had fun doing as a kid are stiff spots now, especially when it is cold out.
Ah well, I am going to sit here and drink coffee, and add on to the list of things that I need to get done outside. As soon as it warms up a little.
Thanks for the poem.
