caught a cold, used good old home remedies, got real sick every joint in body hurt, went to doctor yrsterday, doc says pnuemonia, saysleft side of heart overworked causes water retension which causes presure on arteries which causes strain on right side of heartwhich can cause heart attack or stroke . doc says hospital for complete physical shut down for one week i said at home ok no horsepital so here i am with wife screaming in my ear so if you find me on here a lot just ignore my posts because i don't cotton to being locked up so i may become a little grouchy also someone else is doing my chores and i can't go out to check if there done right

Bob, you get well fast now. SO glad you went to the doctor, can't blame you for wanting to be home to get well. I HATE when I get sick. The house goes to h*ll in a handbasket in a matter of 2 days. Can't nobody keep this house like I can. Guess thats why nobody tries, lol. Oh well, know how you feel, just don't push yourself, let yourself get well, so you can go chekc to see if the chores have been done right, lol. Take care.

I always thought a "vicious cycle" was one of them exercise bikes. Probly best to listen to yer doc at least halfways. He's watchin' out for ya 'cause he knows he loses money ever time someone kicks the bucket prematurely. He wants to keep you around for a long time, especially if he thinks you got money left.

deadcarp    Posted 02-17-2004 at 11:47:23       [Reply]  [No Email]
when i had my stroke last fall the doc stepped in and asked me what my biggest concern was - i told him i had the roof torn open and hoped it didn't rain til i got back. he said look, most people in your condition never get to see their roofs again. so if you want to, let's quit wasting time on dreams and work on what we have and maybe someday you can! well he!!, if he's gonna put it that way ----- :)

well i'm here ain't i? so you take care of self bob, the docs know more about health than both of us and the wife's just a little scared right now but she'll be fine once you are. :)

Oh, be very very careful with that. Let me tell you something RAT NOW! The world is not going to come to a screeching halt if the chores are not done exactly as you would do them. I had to learn that the hard way too. Now, I wouldn't yell like this, but I detect a certain amount of hard-headed-ness in you. Take your week, and deal with it. The alternative sounds mucho scary. Stay warm dry and calm and take care of yourself. The rest will work itself out. I promise. I know.

I agree    Posted 02-17-2004 at 11:12:18       [Reply]  [No Email]
to heck with anything else, cause if you overdo it, maybe you won't ever get on track again. The world won't end if you let things go, but yours might if you don't. SO, ease up

And, I'd like to add to what Cindi said. You don't want to take chances with your lungs. Now, I'm not saying this to worry you, but, I lost a brother a couple years back because he pestered the doctors and left the hospital too early. By the time they got him back it was too late. If I were you, I don't think I'd run the risk. Of course, I'll pray for your recovery but, remember what they say about God helping those who help themselves.........gfp

what realy hurts is that i lost the use of about 70% of both lungs in a chemical accidrnt in 1992

I know that feeling, "if you want things done right... do them yourself".
...BUT, if ever you cannot do them, they either get done by someone else or they just dont get done.
Either way life goes on... if you take care of yourself. My DIL, the nurse, says several times a day take time to breathe deeply to keep your lungs expanded.
I am a shallow breather and I really need to remind myself to do that.
