...and used their own fears against them!

Israeli police have come up with plans to place bags of pig lard on buses in a bid to deter Palestinian militants from carrying out suicide attacks, the Maariv daily reported.

Authorities believe that the move could discourage Palestinians from carrying out attacks as pieces of their exploded body could come into contact with the pig fat, prejudicing their chances of entering into paradise.

The paper said that the rabbinical dispensation could mean that security forces also hang bags of lard in shopping malls and schools.

Public buses have been a favourite target for Palestinian suicide bombers since the start of the intifada in September 2000.

**Now, when are we going to start keeping pig lard in all our major buildings, airports, bus stations, customs, etc.? It's cheap enough. I'll donate (grin)

I would suggest Slim Whitman yodelling. Have you ever listened to some of the far East music and wondered what they think when they listen to any of our music? I've used a phrase most of my life. "To each his own"" Like live and let live. It was always interesting how a smoker would explain his or her right to smoke anywhere they wanted to. Anytime I hear anyone with even slightly extreme views it makes me check out myself for any similar views. Life's too short and people are too precious.

Iam over 50 and a great Fan of Slim Whitman since I bought one of his first number one Record in the UK Pop Charts. This record "Rose Marie" is on many vinyl albums performed by Slim Whitman, in the more than 50 Years he sang. Visted England for short stay in 1990, 1993 and 2002; his farewell tour. Slim Whitman never visited Holland/Netherlands for Concerts. By writing al letter in June 1989 to Bovema Netherlands, I got the adress of SWAS Holland. Enjoyed them as a member in July 1989 until april 2003. Also have been a member of the Slim Whitman International Appreciation Society of England. These people and other mebers of both fanclubs are still good friends of mine. Over 60 LP's, 1 6-LP box set from England, 7 78 rpm records, 4 45 rpm including an EP, 4 MC's, 20 CD's, 2 6 CD-Boxsets from Bear Family, 1 3-CD set from Reader's Digest, even one CD and MC from his son Byron are in my music Collection.

In the 1950's Slim Whitman was a U.S. postman in the city of Shreveport, La. In those days a few of us started the first Slim Whitman Fan Club. It started in the music center in the basement of a "dime store" on Texas St. If you are interested in more information please contact me. Years have passed but the few of us would walk pass ELVIS on the stage to get a better view of Slim. We also were on stage one night with Slim Whitman. We thought we were something, lol.

Hopefully someone can help me out. I'm looking for an mp3 of Slim Whitman's top 20 hit from 1980 or '81 of "When".

... I'd be much obliged if you or anyone else could help me out or point me in the right direction.
Thanks.

Won't work Cindi. Cause, if one is so brain dead as to believe killing people and commiting suiside will gain them a place in paradise, they can just as easily be made to believe that lard is ice cream. I always believed we should start feeding those POW at gittme a little pork if they refused to talk.

Well why not? It kind of reminds me of the movie 'Signs'. Use the simplest of weapons to combat the scariest of foes. Water worked on aleins. Pigs work on terrorists. I said a long time ago we ought to be using pig poopy bombs over there.

Probably the same thing that is happening now. Someone posted a link to it for some reason and replies were made to it. There are replies in 04, 05 and 06.
