I've been a John Denver fan for a lot of years. But a lot of folks years back asked me why I'd listen to "that dope-smokin' hippie" instead of somebody "normal, like Willie Nelson." |

Pre-solo efforts were good, too. Check Youtube to see if you can find a performance of The Mitchell Trio--formerly the Chad Mitchell Trio--performing "Violets of Dawn." Or "For Bobbie" [I prefer the Trio version over the solo version he released, I believe on the "Rocky Mountain High" LP]. |
