I was there in 1969. Remember the French resturant Lafrigaates?

Me and my compadre's were all aiorcraft mechanics. We saved up our cash, washed up and pressed our cleanest Camo's and went there for dinner. Needless to say we were "under dressed" for the civilian contractor crowd that hung out there. But it was a welcome respite for the 12-14 hour days of maintaining war weary cargo haulers.

i did not get out and socialize much.
my most vivid memory of "NT" was of the day i was to take off in a c-130 and the planes batteries were dead(?) so the solution was to use another 130's prop wash to get my planes propellers spinning thereby "jump" starting the engines on the c-130 i was to fly on. i was a tad apprehensive.
