"GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS" A day shouldn't go by

without us giving thought to our men and women in

harms way. Also, by the way, lets not forget

about the cards and/or letters of encouragement

to a lonely soldier. www.anysoldier.com for

addresses.

Funny you should bring that up....i was just telling my daughter n law about the time when Joshua was undergoing a treatment and daddy took me through the tunnel (under the roadway) from the Un. Hospital to the Veteran's hos in Columbia...

we went visiting.

in and out of every room...we'd walk in, he'd gruffly say, "soldier! do ya have things squared away today?"...and then shake their hand or rub their shoulder..."Army here" dad would say...and they either would joke about how rough the Army was or how much better the Marines were (especailly if the patient was a Marine) LOL...then we'd walk out and pop in the next room.

After about 5 or 6 rooms dad asked me if my head was clear...not worring so much about that baby...and of course I said no...then he said, "we have lots of rooms, lots of ol fighters, we'll keep going"...and we did...in and out of rooms...some, when the sites were so hard to take in, he'd walk out and mutter...I"d ask what did ya say? and he'd just shake his head...

I remember his crying..not loud, just would drag out his hanky and wipe his eyes and glasses and then he said, "those poor sons of b-----s" "I'd trade places with any of em"...

And now he has.

-granny h, getting through the day
