My daughter got a call to come and get grandson 10, had a terrible headache, got worse as the day went on,chills, fever, stomach ache, took him to the ER, doc, did a strep test came be negative, but gave him something antibotic, for it anyway,
She took him home and was up with him all night, got worse, took him to his doc today, they did a strep test, negative, still gave him something for it, no sore throat, crazy doctors, he is home still taking on with stomach, head, fever, they said , they did not test for swine flu, any more, but if you had the symtoms you probably have it, girl died this week, she had had 3 test for swine flu, all came back negative, and the last time they tested that came back positive, she died.... Another teen ager has the same symptons my grandson has, they sent her to the shrinners hospital,,, and now tell me How in the heck can they come up with a shot for swine flu when they won't even test for it anymore??? Grandson brought home a paper that told about the shot, a 4 in one, shot, for swine flu ,that caused hallucinations, dizzy ,stuff, like that, NO WAY are my grandkids taking a shot like that, crazy government and doctors....

I think you are a bit confused about several things and that is understandable when a loved one is involved. Swine flu is not a name being used currently for the H1N1 virus. In most areas where there have been documented cases patients are not tested if they display the common flu signs. The vaccine, which is not yet available, should prevent or at least lesson the sick feelings and will be a series of two shots.
It is hard to have a loved one sick, and I hope all others in the household are following the prescribed precautions. Hopefully he will feel better very soon. I also feel that the doctors, state and county health officials, school nurses and others responsible are doing the best they can with this potential epidemic. Hang in there Deb and try to understand that there is a lot of false information floating around.

I went for a check up last week, the nurses said that a little girl tested positive for the "swine flu" not the H1N1 virus,, I think both are the same.. and they do test at,least at my Doctors office. and I still am not taking the shot,I am just staying home, not going to Walmart,ect...

Above all, Deb, do not forget the power of prayer. My bible says that we (believers) shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover. Pray for that child, God is not a liar, his word is true. I will be praying for him, too.

Believe me Deb that was meant as an encouragement to you! I know how we feel about our loved ones. Here lately so much has been attacking my loved ones that I tend to feel weary in bugging God with my prayers for them. However, I know of nothing else that I can do that would be better, so I keep on praying and when in physical contact with them I lay hands on them and remind God of his promise in his word.

Keep us updated please. There is no reason in the world for them to not be very cautious.

Supposedly it really is not a flu that cannot be handled. But this is your grandchild and of course there is no way in the world you want him to be a statistic.

Again keep us updated.

Take care.
