Hello, I own a House of Webster country charm reproduction stove. The latch that holds the oven door closed, broke. I can not seem to find House of Webster (stoves not baked goods) on the internet. Does anyone have a phone number for this company?

Thanks

We have a Monarch Electric/wood range for sale. We think it is from the late 1940's-1950's. It was our great aunt's stove. It is in excellent working condition. She used it until she passed away two months ago. If anyone is interested please let us know. We live in Wisconsin.

1940's-50 Monarch Range: I have a late 40's, early 50's 32" Monarch range bought second-hand near our home in Beaver Dam WI (home of Monarch Range Co) shortly after the company liquidated (mid 1980's). Range has no identifcation plates or tags, possibly used in company's test kitchen ... side compartment and lower drawer were unused at the time I purchased the stove in the 1980's. Burners and oven had wear.

I have used this stove for 20+ years. The heavy and substantial construction materials ensured slow and even baking and broiling.

She is especially beautiful when the copper rings around burner controls are polished. There is an oven clock/timer (currently disabled) on the right-hand side, and the Monarch insignia (crown and crest, gold and red) on the left side.

A chrome "Monarch" is on the center back top; The cooking surface includes a deep well, one large, and two small wired burners (all working). The broiler element is in good working condition. The oven thermostat was replaced in late 1980's (with a 1970's knob, but I still have the original knob and related wiring).

A coil and ceramic baking element are covered by enameled steel, with ceramic conductors to a 3-prong plug-in (recently burned out)- relacement estimate at $100-200. I am "in love" with this stove, but - looking at retirement years ahead - will consider selling to someone who shares my love of the beauty and history of "old stuff," and who is interested in keeping these old ranges available. I can not accept that this beautiful stove - even if if all its mechanicals failed - might end up in a landfill.

I have a 1932 country charm I have been keeping it working for several years. I am now at an inpass without the schematics. Mainly the oven. The broiler unit is loose going through the back of the oven. One side seems to be always hot so when the burner is shifted arc's and sparks. I have always found the trouble and repair it. This time we did it real good. The broiler heater welded it self to the back of the unit. I fixed that found a wire burnt at the return strip on the inside back of the stove . Replaced the connector the oven still does not turn on. This does have a clock unit on it the clock does not work however unit is in the manual mode. I do not know how the switch from manual to automatic works however all wires seem to be connected. Is there anyone have any ideas. I hate to depend on a microwave. It does a real lousy job on pies. Thank you, Bill in Tacoma WA.

We have a Monarch coal/wood electric combo range.
This is a 40's to 50's white enamel model.
The electric range top works, the wood wells, and wood storage are fine. The oven light works, but the oven needs a new thermostat. We are in Eugene Oregon. It had been in use in a 1896 farm house, and was attached to the water heater when it was in full use. We use it daily for range top purposes. Price is negotiable.
I took pictures, but have not loaded them into computer yet.
best,
sophia

I was a sales rep for monarch range from 1960 through 1968 and was not aware of any other facilities that they had for manufacturing purposes.
I have really good memories of this company and am probably one of the last surviving sales people.
I do not have any parts but I was told that all parts were sold to someone in the Beaver Dam area.
Best wishes

I paid $122 for a MONARCH thermostat from Normon. What I got was an after market part that did not work. NORMON said to return it which I did. They then claimed they never received it and even lied to consumer protection division about the whole thing. IF you do business with them send everything CERTIFIED an INSURED or risk losing your money and your part.

This is a response to the inflamatory and incorrect posting on April 16, 2007 "Beware of Nor-Mon Dist".

This customer ordered and received the correct Monarch part for his appliance. It was an updated part complete with instructions on how to install it. The customer called for asstance in installing it. After explaining to the customer it was apparent that the customer did not have the expertise to correctly install the part and it was suggested that he call a repair company in his area to assist him (he was three states away). Instead the customer commented that he didn't want to pay a repair technician and tried to install the part himself, electrically shorting the item out.

The customer requested permission to return the shorted-out part. Instead of using UPS or another form of insured delivery, he sent it via regular parcel post. It was never received at Nor-Mon. Customer then filed a complaint with our state's Consumer Protection Board. Nor-Mon honestly answered the inquiry and the Consumer Protection Board found the customer's complaint had no merit.

Nor-Mon Distributing has been in business for over 25 years and is run in a honest and ethical manner. Nor-Mon sells major appliance parts and HVAC supplies all over the USA. I can count on one hand the consumer complaints I am aware of in 25+ years.

Unlike the customer who posted his complaint. I am not afraid to post my name and e-mail address:

Having just disposed of a 50 year old Monarch oven, I am surprised an individual can even find parts for these once excellent appliances. As for the...individual...who foolishly attempted to fix his Monarch, my comment is: What a fool.

The company that manufactured Monarch ovens went out of business in 1985. My guess is spare parts for a 50+ year old machine are next to impossible to find given the above reasons. Common sense dictates using alternate parts would lead one to be extra careful when installing. That's why I chose to replace mine with a brand new stove and avoid the hassle.

My closing remark is beware dumb consumers trying to save a buck. Thank You.

I refrain from using my real name as this is an informed personal opinion and not a company response. Although, I wager some at that company would agree with my opinion.

I'm actually commenting further on the Sears Country Kitchen Electric stove also. (Old timey black looking range with fake warming cabinet on top--ours was never installed). I have one also and am desperately looking for any wiring diagrams or further info. on it. We love ours--its character and have located some parts for it again-- but need the wiring diagram to go with it--does anybody have this--or anything else that would help-- to keep this vintage stove going? Wish I knew on the hinges but I don't. Is there any other company that makes an electric reproduction of an old timey stove that does not cost an arm and a leg plus several acres of land? The model number is 143-6606-801.

Hi, Just stopped at this site today and may be of help. I'm at Two Rivers WI and Metalware owns the Monarch Stove plant up 42 at Algoma. They still make an old fashoned looking new electric range with warming oven as far as I know. They also make the Nesco and American Harvest driers. Go to their www.nesco.com link and you'll find a 800#. They aren't a real big company and I'm sure you'll get personal attention. Good Luck. Bill

Maybe yu can help me. I have an old stove in which I am looking to find some information on. It is also my the Monarch Company. The one I have is half electric and half wood-burning. If you know anything about these or know who might, or even where I might even be able to go to find out, your help would be greatly appreciated.

Finally, a site where I may be able to get some answers. We have a "Malleable Iron Range" from Beaver Creek, Wisconsin. I've figured out that the company later used the Monarch label for ranges. It appears that it was once wood burning, but two of the burners have been converted to electric. Help?! What do I do with this range? How do I value it?

Did you find the range you were looking for? My wife's aunt passed away and she has a 1941 electric / wood burning Monarch Electric Range in her basement. We would like to sell it. I was told it was in excellent shape with all original parts.

In the summer the electric stove was used for cooking. In the winter the wood burning portion was used to heat the kitchen.

I don't know how to find out what the thing is worth. If you are still in need of one and live near Michigan, come check it out.

Thanks,

Carl

My wife and I have inherited a Monarch coal/wood electric range that we would like to know the approximate age and value. The model number is: CL119DY and the serial number is: ACC1062. It is in good working condition and has only had wood burned in it.

If anyone can give us any information we would appreciate it. Thanks. Jonathan
