Kountry Life How-To

How to put on an Axe Handle
When you need to replace an axe handle, first drill out all the old wood that stayed in the head when it broke and clean out any remnants. After doing this, trim the new handle a little bit at a time until it can be forced into the head. Pound in the wedges that were provided with the handle (or buy some if none came with it) and let it soak in a bucket of water over night.

If the handle eventually becomes loose, either put in an additional wedge or drive the original further home and once again let it soak in a bucket of water over night.
