Emergency Wood Stove Repair
Special wood stove cement for repairing cracks in the stove is readily available at most hardware stores. However, if the stores are closed and you need to do something right away, here is an old-time stove cement recipe;

Use 1 cup of cool wood ashes, add a half cup of salt. Then slowly stir in enough water to form a stiff paste.

You can plaster the broken places in the stove metal with this. Then build a fire in the stove and bake the sealer until it is hard. This repair job should last quite awhile as long as the mended spot is not bumped.
