However, if the stores are closed and you need to do something right away, here is an old-time stove cement recipe; Use 1 cup of cool wood ashes, add a half cup of salt. Then slowly stir in enough water to form a stiff paste. You can plaster the broken places in the stove metal with this. Then build a fire in the stove and bake the sealer until it is hard.
