Making a Fish Line Weight
If you don't have any store-bought fish weights, or you don't like using the lead fish weights that you have, try the following;

Take an old metal toothpaste tube and cut it into strips about an inch long (in whatever width you prefer). You may have to rinse any remaining toothpaste off. Then just wrap a chunk (or several chunks) around the line where you want the weight and crimp it with pliers.
