|I remember walking two miles to school each day. Part of the trip was through the 'long swamp' where there supposedly were wolves. My two brothers were with me. I also lived in a log house that was built by my grandparents - they having come over from Scotland and bought the land from the Crown. It had a river running through it and was worth a lot of money. It now has fallen down. I also remember kids in a one-room school locking out the teacher with huge benches on April Fools Day.At Christmas we went to Christmas Concerts in a horse and cutter and we had live candles on the tree. Nothing burned down.|
Though we didn't have a lot I sometimes think we were happier in those times.
