Kountry Life Recipes

Hardtack
Ingredients:
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon sugar
5 cups flour

Directions:
This is good for camping or hiking, it keeps a good long time and is a replacement for fresh bread. Or, you just might be curious to try this recipe that was used quite a bit in the old days by people travelling long distances.

Directions;

Mix together salt, sugar and flour. Add just enough water to make a stiff dough. Roll the dough about 1/4 inch thick, cut it into pieces and bake until very dry on a greased pan in a slow oven (about 250 degrees F).
