4 or 5 apples
Remove cores from apples, but do not peel. Cut in thick slices across the apples (the slices will be circular with a hole in the middle).
Drop the slices in cold water for a fe minutes, then put in a skillet with 1/4 cup bacon drippings and cook for a few minutes.
Turn over with pancake turner, then sprinkle brown sugar on top of each one and cook slowly for about 25 minutes.
