yep skunks are more active in spring. in the 30s they had a bounty and my dad & uncles used to almost raise them. they'd see one and hold back, follow it to its den and watch for when it had babies, then dig the litter up and collect money on all of them. during the drought they denned up in cracks in the ground. now i've had some lousy jobs but can you imagine collecting skunks in gunny sacks?
