My 17 year old grandson brought another boy up to the farm this weekend. They rode the ATV, worked a little and fished like crazy.

They caught numerous bluegills, a few crappie, and seven large channel cats that made up a condsiderable lunch on Sunday.

We burned the island in the lake and it really needed it. Next we will clear out some willows that are all but hiding the island when in full leaf. With the tall grasses burned out we can get to them easier. We won't cut out all of them but will wage war.

We noticed that saturday was leafing out day. Most of the trees got that longed for green haze. Won't be long there will acutally be some shade in the woods.

People are patiently waiting mushroom season. Chickens are molting so egg production is a little off. Heard a turkey gobble Saturday morning. We've had plenty of rain so things are greening up pretty good. The lawn tractor was serviced and my wife will use it for the first time this evening. I love that woman.

Have a great week. I have to pull 4 12 hours days in a row then 8 on friday. I will be bushed come the weekend.
