What would $5.00 gal. do for the economy. Are trucking companies gonna eat the extra cost. Nope we are. Not much that don't get moved by truck. Or cab drivers, or pizza delevries. Driving is a necessary anymore. I have to haul water from town, 10 miles away. I haul my feed and hay from Belle Fouche, that's just short of 100 miles each way. I live 10 miles from town but if I want a McDonalds hamburger or a tool from Sears I have to go to Rapid City or Gillette, 70 miles each way. I maintain the road I live on because the county won't. Wyoming supplies coat to most of the country. It takes fuel to produce coal and delivery it to eastern power plants. Heating and electricty is gonna go ski high. Personaly gas would have to go way above $5 a gal to equal what I paid when I got out of the army in 69, price per gal vs. hourly wage. I won't suffer that much but there are millions of low income people out there that are gonna get hurt real bad. You want to see the countries economy go in the tolet, then raise the price of gas to $5 gal. Actually if you figure it out it won't have to go near that high to hurt a lot of people. Who would benifit, the government? That extra gas tax is gonna get eatin up real quick in welfare payments.
