Rick,
As a life-long horse owner, my advise would be Timothy/Brome mix. Horses do well on it, and it's fairly easy to grow. Alfalfa is good hay but requires more maintaince, and horses have a tendancy to get the Strangles with Alfalfa. Whatever you decide to seed just make sure that it's baled correctly. Neither dusty nor moldy hay should be fed to horses.
