I'm No Fool!!!

Well, we made it home from the wedding we went to, and being as we were kinda pushed for time, and supper was not in my reach to fix, I grabbed up some Captain D's coupons and took orders.

Then, I jumped in my truck, cranked up some good country tunes, and headed down the road. I got to Captain D's and saw the drive through was a little crowded, so I decided to go on in and order. I haven't been to Captain D's in a long time anyway, so I could go in and take my time. I ordered, got our supper, and headed out the door.

I hopped in the truck, and checked the dinners just to make sure I got what I ordered before I left the parking lot.

Now, before I tell you what happened, I have to make y'all understand why I did what I did. For some reason, there is only one Captain D's anywhere around my house, so I have to go to that one. It is on a 4 lane highway, with a lot of old run down apartments. There are a lot of undesirables in that area. Drug activity, just kinda scummy area in general. So, you tend to kinda watch yourself when you are coming and going to the truck. Now, mind you this, I am NOT afraid of black people, BUT..this area is known for what happened to me.

So...getting back to the story...I was rustling around in the bags, and out of habit, I always lock the doors when I get in. About the time I did that, some black guy, skinny, looking kinda strung out, with one of those doo rags on his head, looked like it used to be an old black tee shirt. He has a huge folded up umbrella, and he taps on my window, and motions for me to roll my window down while he says "scewz me pleeeze".

Now, here I am, dressed like a fine lady for a change, because I still had my wedding attire on, looking vulnerable all by myself, and feeling a little pissed off about it. I am not looking or feeling my usual tough lady redneck self, I am totally out of character, and all I have to show my character is my big red dodge truck, which obviously isn't scaring this guy too much. Too bad for him, cause he picked the worng lady to try and mess with.

I don't know what he wanted, I don't care what he wanted. All I knew was, I didn't have nothing I wanted to give him, and I wasn't gonna roll no dang window down even half and inch to hear his sob story and ask me for a dollar. In this day and age it is just too dangerous to do any such thing, especially since I was by myself.

I looked up at him, and looked at him like he had lost his stupid mind, and shook my head NO, and he stood there, so I proceeded to shake my head some more and mouthed F**K YOU!!

Well...that got him moving on...on to the next parking lot, Sonny's BBQ, where I sw him approach another lady in a vehicle, she just waved him off and took off, nearly running over his foot in the process.

I know deep down, if Ian had been with me, he would have NEVER targeted me, and I can tell you something else, if I had been in my usual aggresive defiant mode, he would have felt the heat coming off this redneck girl and never approached me, I know that much.

I just can't be taking chances these days, have to be careful. Ya know what I mean?
