Pallets are usually easy to come by. The place I work (electric utility) accumulates them and has a burn party a couple times a year for the ones that don't get hauled home by employees. Look around/ask around. Try any store that has stuff delivered on pallets, like a farm supply place.
For plastic pails, try a local McDonalds, Burger King, etc. I think they get pickles in pails which would be nice and clean. No worries about toxic stuff in 'em. Wouldn't hurt to ask.
As for the juice type barrels, keep your eyes open, read classified (Penny Saver type pubs). These will probably cost you money.
