For contributing to the apology post I made the other day regarding the overheard phone conversation.

We met with the couple this morning. While they were a little cold, they never brought up what they overheard, which I suspected might happen as Fred was there with me. Funny thing though, while we were there, they tried to bill us a hundred and sixty dollars more than we owed them.

"My man said your daughter went in on Wednesday and picked up four barrels and charged it to your account."

HUH? First of all I would never let Jill go get over a thousand pounds of feed on her own. I won't let her drive the truck with that much weight in it. We declined to pay. Said we had not gotten anymore feed.

"Well," he states, "my man would not say your daughter got it, if she hadn't got it. He's been with me thirty years. If he says it was Triple J Farm that got it, then it is Triple J Farm that gets billed for it."

We insisted that he pursue the matter and call his man and get more details. In the process of three separate conversations with 'his man', it was determined that the feed was picked up by someone altogether different. We left feeling vindicated for everything that was said and he was left with egg on his face. This situation was typical of what started the rant to begin with. Although I still plan to apologize for the brutal manner in which the message was delivered. Somehow.
