went out this evening, opened the gate, called the speckled sussex chicks, they came a runnin' up the steps, waited their turn to be snuggled down into the brooder for the night with fresh litter, food, and water. It was still about an hour or so before dark, so Shelby and I got Tyler (her rabbit) out of the hutch and let him run around the house and play a bit. He went potty int he litter box, pee pee, but had a poo poo accident. Getting late, so we put him back, gave him a strawberry for his treat for going in the litter box.

Shelby and Tip go out back to round up the Buffs and get them in the house for the night, and Shelby comes back upset. She says one of the chickens is bleeding on the cheek. So...out I go to see what has happened.

Who knows? But she did have a pretty big boo boo, about the size of a quarter on her cheek. SO...I went round and round and round and round the chicken house trying to catch her, then...TWIST...BAMMMM! I hit the ground, twisted my ankle on a root chasing that stupid chicken. Well, now I was mad. As you get older, to fall seems to take an eternity, and when you get there, well, you have to take a minute to think about what just happened before you get up again.

SO, I said phooey, I will wait until they are roosting and go in and get her. So...thats where I am off to now, with my antibiotic foam in hand. I sure hope she is on the side closest to the big door so I don't have to strugle to get her out of one of the egg doors!
