Lisa, I was plagued by those Plantar warts, or "Sole" warts for years. We tried "Compound W," when it first came out. It caused pain, both from the burning, and from the buildup, like having rocks in your shoes.
When I was in my twenties, they came back. I had one as large as a silver dollar, and several smaller ones. An old fashioned Doctor helped me get rid of them, for good. He "pared" the warty material off, with a scalpel, then painted the area with DMSO, and Betadine, alternately. He then gave me a scalpel, a bottle of DMSO, and a bottle of Betadine, and told me to repeat the procedure twice a day, till the DMSO was gone. I did that, and the warts disappeared, and have never returned.
He explained that the DMSO, a penatrant, carried the Betadine down into the wart, so it could kill the viruses that caused it.
