I promise you will not regret it if you just put the peas in a ziplock and freeze them. When you want to cook some just take out whatever you want to cook and wash them then. Much easier and less time. This is what we do and it works great. My wife blanched them for years until we found out about this. Be sure and not rinse them or they will freeze together.
