It's part of our 60x80ft garden, not a commercial planting. I use 7 sprinkler heads set 6ft high around the garden fence to irrigate during the summer and fall. Asparagus works well. Mine is about 5 years old now. An 80 foot row gets us sick of it by late May.

Economics have nothing to do with my garden! I would go broke in one season. Strickly fun and for mental health, with the added benefit of food for family and friends.

Perennials are asparagus, artichokes, blackberries, multiplying onions and sometimes garlic. Nothing else seems to survives the summer, even with irrigation. Probably more due to my inability to spend time with it, rather than the plants hardiness.
