Thank you Judy...I checked out eggbay once
but didn't see Doms, also we were hoping to
get birds a little further along, we're worried
about cats and temperature and the fact that
we may be away for a couple days at a time. I
don't know though, we may end up with chicks
because that's all we can get.

Tom, thanks for all the great info. Please ask
your better half why 6 is not enough. Bear in
mind these guys are going to be more like
pets than anything else. That and they have to
fit in our coop, which I'm making out of an old
6' X 6' privy. (Off the record, this is on orders
from my own better half, who's afraid this
might be another one of my crazy
projects--Last year I moved an old barn to the
property and she still hasn't recovered from it.
She's afraid we'll get sucked into taking care
of these things and she doesn't want to
become a chicken farmer.)

Les, yes, I'm a couple miles from where they
hold the Winterhawk Festival (now called Gray
Fox, I think) though I'm sorry to say I've never
been to it (just never seem to be around that
weekend). By the way, there is another festival
up the road in Hillsdale that's adopted the
Winterhawk name, though it's more folky than
bluegrass.

Again, thanks to all.

-Paul
