Yesterday evening I saw something I'd never seen before, was wondering if I've just led a sheltered life.

Wife and I were standing around, our free range poultry meandering looking for bugs and stuff as always. Suddenly one of the chickens alerted, looked like a cat on the prowl, and quick as a wink pounced about 3 feet and grabbed a field mouse out of the grass with the clear intention of killing and eating. (Wife put a stop to it...she even stops the cats when she sees 'em, but that is another story).

Anyway, anybody else see a hunter chicken before? I thought the only live stuff they ate was bugs and worms.
