Just before attempt number 4.I called upon a Jew in Chicago to say a prayer for my efforts then i got it back on with no leak.But with the Chevy I never needed that kind of assistance.They are cast iron and are out in the open where you can see the bolts. I remember a Dodge pickup not long ago I had this same trouble.The ears of the flange pulls down before the gasket can seal.They think of every cost cutting method to save the money and make the owners job more trouble.
