Well, ok. You are right that it was not a crime at that time in the South. However, there is not a person alive today that is mentally competant that does not understand that it is moraly wrong to own another person. Moreover, I will go so far as to say that the same was true in 1860. That was true even in the South. The difference of opinion was that it was already an integral part of the economy there, and they did not believe that it was anybody elses business.

That is also true of course that they had the right to run their own affairs. However, that did not make it right, and hence...the war. Wrongs are still wrong regardless of the enforcers.

Nevertheless we agree. This was over 140 years ago. It does not involve us. We did not do the deed and are not liable.

If you grant them reparations, then where will this end? My ancestors are from Norway. Should I also pay thousands to the British and the French because of what my ancestors (the Vikings) did a thousand years ago?

What the hell does any of this have to do with me personally?

This is really absurd and HAS TO STOP.....NOW!!!
