You know, I don't really understand why people ( all over the world ) can get so exited about political issues and politicians..
Long ago I found out that there's not a lot of difference in what parties and candidates do AFTER they are being elected.
The bulk of the politicians just want to get the job they are running for and enjoy the power, teh money and the influence that comes with it.
I've been around for a while, lived in 6 different countries and observed the local politics from a save distance. The differences in what's happening to the people of the country when one party or another is in power are marginal..
The influence of the big companies and financial institutes is so much bigger - THEY are the ones who pull the strings..
Right now we have election year here in PR. The race is between one corrupt candidate and another who is just as corrupt.. What is going to happen after the elections is nothing new really.. Things will stay more or less the same.. I'm glad I'n not allowed to vote ( being only a lawful permanent resident of the USA and no citizen ) because I really wouldn't knwo who would get my vote..
Back to the topic, why can people who are friends fight over something like the presidential candidate? Aren't there more important issues in life? And lst but not least, isn't it possible to discuss the points of view without getting into a fight??
Just some thoughts of an a-poloitical human being...
