Copper nails/tacks driven into the trunks. Works over a few weeks. Kind of hard to find in some areas.
Also some "weed and feeds" for lawns will kill trees but takes a while for the chemical to seep down to the roots.
Or drill a small hole in the trunk and inject copper sulfate solution.
The leaves, though may be toxic to livestock
