A proper introduction

Hi, since I had been lurking a long time, and started posting first with lots of chicken questions and a few car questions and lately dog stuff, thought I should introduce myself.

First of all, this is a great board and I thank you guys for the great advice I have received here! I am learning a lot. I live near but not in Sacramento, CA. I'm a single mom with twin boys, who will be four years old November 10th. They are of course the light of my life.

I live in the outer suburbs, only dream of living on a small farm or ranch. There is a horse stable about a mile away, and I may very well get a horse or two in a couple of years, to board there. I do have four chickens, couple of rabbits, cats, new puppy, organic veggie garden. I grew up volunteering on a horse rental ranch - eventually it turned into a barely paying job. I did it out of love for the horses. I lived on a small farm for a while when I was a teenager - where I learned to milk a cow. Fresh milk is the best, like fresh eggs and fresh food from the garden. I worked for a year or so on a small pig/ cattle farm (20 - 25 hogs, 25 cows & a bull), got to learn about clipping needle teeth, de-horning bull calves. Almost green broke a Welsh Pony Stallion but he got the better of me. I was not seriously hurt, I stopped before it went that way.

In college I majored in animal science for a short time but soon realized any job I could get in that field, I could get as easily with a degree in biology. The biology degree opened up more opportunities. I ended up not working in an animal science related field at all.

I do have a question - maybe I should ask somewhere else on this forum, but I was wondering why our IP addresses are posted? Right under the poster's name is the IP address. Sorry Clod & Burrhead, I was only kidding that you guys were the same person. You can click on
and it shows the nearest large town/ location of the poster's internet provider by ISP. Someone pointed that website out to me, I am not very computer literate... Seemed a little odd to me to have the IP addy for all to see, but maybe that is a common thing?
