that's quite a story - they'll surprise you on occasion. my quick-draw nephew spun & fired on a bedding buck not 50 feet fron him a couple years ago - the thing had been hunkered down laying upright on its knees in a popple thicket. it stayed put so upon closer investigation, he discovered the deer had been mortally wounded before, got comfy and froze in that position. :)
then one day the redimix plant wanted a scoop of special gravel from their old pit so they just sent a payloader the couple miles down there. well the operator saw a buck dart across in front of him on the way there, but forgot about it. when he slowed the rig down to turn unto the pit, the thing hopped outa his bucket! it must have been stunned or something.
