Robert, at 5 foot I am guessing you have a garden tractor to pull it with. I have a 42" disc harrow for my sears 18Hp and it will break up the soil as good as a tiller will, maybe you should look for an old horse drawn disc in a fence row some place and make it fit your tractor. I don't know your soil in Ar but I don't think you want to go too deep and bring up tough lumps for a garden or anything else.
